X-Scapes

Today, recording technologies enable us to document every moment of our lives. This time-space information, when retrieved later, facilitates the creation of a reality informed by past events. However, despite the pervasive use of these technologies, there remain areas of our lives that go unrecorded.

The X-Scapes project serves as a consciousness-space for realities that are nurtured by unrecorded or unrecordable time-space experiences. It comprises three categories: Dreamscapes, Memoscapes, and Imaginescapes.

Dreamscapes engage with the time-space reality of dreams. Within dreams, consciousness restructures the emotional states that are suppressed during wakefulness into various time-space constructs, which consequently lead the consciousness to question its own reality during sleep. In this respect, dreams form reality based on time-space knowledge and allow consciousness to evolve during dreams.

Memoscapes engages with the time-space reality of memories. Within memories, consciousness traverses the spaces of the past. Each time it does so, it recalls something different. Sometimes it realizes that the recollection isn’t real. Despite their impermanence, these memories are recorded before they alter or are forgotten.

Memories provide a time-space environment for consciousness to transform into memory, thereby enabling an understanding of the present and the future. In this respect, memories constitute time-space knowledge and allow consciousness to shape its own self (its own reality).

Imaginescapes engages with the time-space reality of imagination and fantasies. Fantasies within consciousness serve as alternate time-space environments that are purely fictitious. By enabling consciousness to introspect, these fantasies provide an opportunity to envision the future. At times, they allow consciousness to observe itself from a distance in a scenario that hasn’t yet occurred. For a brief moment, consciousness recognizes these fantasies as a reality and compares them to past experiences. In this manner, consciousness can determine what it desires and adjust its own time-space environment accordingly.

Within this context, fantasies serve as a form of time-spatial knowledge, enabling consciousness to navigate between infinite alternate universes. In this project, the intangible time-spatial realities of dreams, memories, and fantasies are reimagined and transformed through the medium of animations. By doing so, these recordings aim to reestablish a connection with physical reality and aid in the exploration of the self within consciousness. It’s worth noting that this project is an ongoing endeavor, incorporating time-spatial realities that have been generated up until the present day.
